We are local hosts based in the heart of Western Serbia, guiding small groups of 4 to 20 people — families, friends and private groups who want to experience the region from the inside.
With us, you can explore nature, local festivals, family farms, food and drink tastings, viewpoints, adventures and hidden places that most travelers never discover.
There is no fixed itinerary. We plan each day together, based on your pace, interests and the weather. You choose the rhythm — we open the doors to the very best of Western Serbia.
The experience is based in Western Serbia, with easy access to Central Serbia, allowing guests to explore diverse landscapes, villages, food traditions and cultural highlights within short distances.
Western Serbia is considered one of the most authentic and diverse parts of the country. Within a relatively small area, mountains, villages, small towns, traditional agriculture, rich cuisine, and a strong local identity come together.
This region is ideal for slow travel, offering short distances, frequent stops, spontaneity, and direct contact with people who live here.
The program is based in Western Serbia, with visits to parts of Central Serbia depending on the group’s interests.
This journey focuses on real life and everyday culture.
Local people and their stories, homemade food, small family farms and markets, traditions, local festivals, ways of life, old crafts, nature, and lesser-known local attractions form the core of the experience.
Festivals hold a special place — Serbia has hundreds of them throughout the year, often connected to food, seasons, and customs, making them one of the most authentic travel experiences.
Travel Without a Fixed Plan
This is not a classic tour with a pre-defined daily schedule.
Each day is shaped by weather conditions, the group’s mood, interests, and energy. The program evolves naturally, giving guests freedom and allowing the journey to follow a relaxed, human pace.
Hosts, Not a Travel Agency
Guests do not travel with an anonymous agency, but with hosts from Kosjerić, a small town in Western Serbia.
Rural tourism in this area has been developing for more than 45 years, and the hosts themselves have been actively involved for over 22 years. They live here, work with local people, and open the doors to places that are not part of mass tourism.
The base of the stay is Gostoljublje, an estate located in a village below Mount Divčibare.
Accommodation is authentic yet comfortable, designed for longer stays. Gostoljublje has a private, closed-type restaurant reserved exclusively for guests staying on the estate, ensuring a calm, organized, and consistent experience.
All destinations are within one to two hours of driving, with frequent stops and visits to smaller, authentic places along the way.
Food as Culture, Not a Service
The core stay includes accommodation, breakfast, and lunch, with an additional tasting or light meal during the day.
Lunch is the main meal and is often organized at local producers’ homes or traditional households. Food follows the rhythm of the day, the season, and the place being visited.
Arrival & Transport Options
Upon arrival in Serbia, guests choose their preferred arrival and transport options in advance. You can travel with a rental car and drive yourself, travel with a driver using car or van transport, or combine options depending on the group. If needed, we can also provide a local Serbian SIM card with phone number and internet access upon arrival, as well as local travel insurance for guests who do not already have their own. All arrangements are organized before arrival to ensure a smooth and comfortable start of the stay.

FINAL NOTE
This experience is designed for travelers who want to understand Serbia, not just visit it.
Every stay is shaped together with the guests, respecting their interests, pace, and expectations.
Below is an example of a 10-day slow travel journey through Western and Central Serbia, combining authentic villages, local food, living traditions, historic towns, mountains, rivers and outdoor activities — with each day offering a different regional experience.
This journey unfolds as a flexible 10-day slow travel experience through Western and Central Serbia, starting in small towns and villages such as Kosjerić and Zlakusa, where guests encounter local crafts, traditional pottery, rural households and everyday village life. Along the way, the route includes historic towns like Užice, regional food traditions, seasonal manifestations and local festivals, followed by mountain landscapes on Zlatibor, Sirogojno and Stopića Cave. Active days naturally blend in through horseback riding, cycling descents from Povlen and Divčibare, and time spent outdoors. Cultural and natural highlights continue through Mokra Gora, Tara National Park, Kremna and iconic viewpoints such as Banjska Stena, before reaching the Drina River area with Bajina Bašta, Lake Perućac and river experiences. The journey also includes spiritual and restorative moments in the Ovčar-Kablar monasteries and Ovčar Banja, with optional extensions toward Višegrad and the Uvac meanders, offering a complete, authentic and varied experience of Serbia through real places, landscapes and local life.

After a shared breakfast at Gostoljublje, the first day stays close to the base. The idea is to start slowly and meet the local people and everyday life.
During the day we visit the Kajsija cheese workshop, the Zaric distillery, and a local watermill (Potocari) to see how flour was made and how it is still used today. We take short pauses in nature, and lunch is organized in a local household or a calm rural setting. The afternoon is reserved for an easy return to the base.
In the evening, we gather again at Gostoljublje, often outdoors, with time to talk and plan the next day.
After breakfast we go to Zlakusa, a village known for its pottery tradition.
We start with traditional pottery (grncarija)—how it is made, how it is used, and why it is important in everyday cooking. Those who want can try a simple hands-on part of the process. After that, we add a cultural layer: traditional costumes (narodne nosnje) and a relaxed photo moment, without any protocol.
The day continues with a visit to a cave, and then we slow down again at a fishpond area below, where lunch and breaks feel natural and quiet. On the way back, we include a short stop with a local host for a small tasting, then return to Gostoljublje.
Day 3
This day begins with breakfast and a different rhythm: we go to Uzice by local train.
In Uzice, we start at the local market (pijaca)—not as a tourist stop, but as a place where people buy food and talk. Guests taste local specialties, see ingredients, and meet people behind the stalls.
We continue with a walk through the town and its story: the old fortress, then the historic hydroelectric power plant, and time in the center to experience the city in a simple, local way. Lunch is organized in a local kafana where guests can try typical regional dishes. In the afternoon, we return to the base.
Day 4 – Local Event / Festival Day (based on the calendar)
After breakfast, we choose one nearby town or area where something is happening that day: a local festival, food event, or cultural gathering.
This day is connected to your events calendar page—guests can see what is happening during their stay and decide what fits best. The focus is always on local food, people, and atmosphere. Return to the base is planned without rushing.
Day 5 –
After breakfast we go to Zlatibor.
The day includes the Open-Air Museum “Staro selo Sirogojno”, then the Stopica Cave, followed by time at the large market where guests can see local products and regional food culture. We include the gondola ride and viewpoints, keeping enough time for pauses and walking.
In the late afternoon, we return to Gostoljublje.
Day 6 –
After breakfast, guests choose an active day option (based on interest and weather): hiking, bikes, horses, or a vehicle-based option (quad/jeep). Lunch is in a local household setting. The goal is a nature day that fits the group’s energy.
Day 7
After breakfast, we take a full-day mountain route.
We start with Mokra Gora and the historic train experience (Sarganska osmica), then continue with Drvengrad. We include the Kremna area (stories and local context), and then move into Tara Mountain for viewpoints and nature stops.
This is a longer day, but with a calm pace and enough breaks. Return to base in the evening
Day 8 – Bajina Basta + Drina / Perucac (water day)
After breakfast, we go toward Bajina Basta and the Drina / Perucac area.
Depending on conditions and group preference, the day focuses on being near the water—boat ride or calm river/lake time—with lunch by the river. This is a slower day, built around scenery, pauses, and simple local food.
Day 9 – Ovcar–Kablar (calm day)
After breakfast, we go to Ovcar–Kablar.
The day includes monasteries, a gentle walk, and time in the spa (Ovcar Banja). The pace is slow, designed for balance and recovery, with a simple shared meal during the day.
Return to base in the afternoon.
Day 10 – Example of a More Demanding Day
This day is presented as an example of a more demanding day within the stay and is intentionally placed last in the program overview. Its purpose is to show that, in addition to lighter and moderately active days, there are also days that require more time, energy, and additional organization.
Such days are planned separately, as they usually involve a full day of activities, longer program duration, and, if necessary, an overnight stay outside the main accommodation.
Although shown as the last day, this day does not have to be the final day in the actual itinerary, but is scheduled where it best fits the overall plan, group dynamics, and available time.
